Bruce Black has recreated the original barn built on this site in the late 1800's which is detailed with wood from the Pennsylvania barn his great-great grandfather built in the 1870's.

Hearst Castle is open and can be reached from the north via Highway 101 to Paso Robles and from the south via Cambria and Paso Robles.
This popular spot to observe elephant seals has a boardwalk & viewing areas. Elephant seals: They're huge, loud and so ugly, they're cute. And each year, they gather on California's Central Coast for mating, birthing and molting seasons. Visitors to San Simeon can catch elephant seals there year-round, but the population grows at certain times of the year as the seals go through different phases in their life cycle.
